ma-ia-hi... ma-ia-hu..

i woke up to this new york times article about the numa numa dance/song...

irony in the story.. the song was romanian.

when i saw the clip abt 3-4 weeks ago, i didnt realise it would merit the cnn, msnbc, cnbc, nyt etc etc etc to have articles on the story.. poor guy!!

but the song is catchy and the dude has done a great job of synching!! :) I think he should just go out and enjoy his 15 minutes of fame!! a la William Hung .....
heres the link for those who have no idea what i'm blabbering abt.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/206373 watch the movie!!

--- Did not realise that so many people have already done so much of research on what I want to do and have been working on!! Spent all of the evening reading up on the clever ways the British have come up with stuff on Hazard Perception.. makes me feel stupid and outdated.. with all the access to information, how come I didn't come across these papers before!!! DAMN!!!!!!!!

--- bought a cd after a long long time.. Blues for a Rainy Afternoon

its pretty good..

guess the blues are called the blues coz of the blues...

no haiku no music no witty signoffs...

g'night

knights templar, wordpress, haiku

my post topics DO NOT have to represent my posts!!

and saying that... 'National Treasure' is not that bad a movie.. Fun to watch when u actually want to relax.. dont stress out or exercise any of your precious neurons.. And definitely not a movie to watch if you;re in a cranky mood and are ready to tear apart any movie that you watch (watch the matrix in that case). What I liked in the movie was the glib/witty/corny one-liners that kept popping up from all the characters.. (even the evil henchmen!) ... good for laughs..

am still checking out a whole bevy of beautiful blogs (alliteration not intended) powered by wordpress and am still amazed at how slick it is. Only my sheer laziness and some kind of emotional attachment (????) to Blogger is keeping me from switching so far.. but am still working on ideas for the other site. (This may sound dumb to those techno-geeks out there, but virtual servers in Apache is such a great idea... )

and now...

expecting snow
i search for reason
moonlight fades

goddammit and plagiarism

downloaded and did the 5 minute install of wordpress today. But that doesnt mean that I'm going to be moving this to wp anytime soon. In fact, that might be for a brand new site... hmmmmmm.. any ideas?? right now i'm busy surfing blogs, stealing ideas and hacks and plugins.. well not stealing yet, just checking out.. I should start to list them now.. am way too disorganized for my own good.. should reorganise my del-icio-us links too. and my gallery and add new pictures and finish the latest revision of the last paper and finish the proof of concept for the director program and collate and edit the wishlist for the simulator and ... oh well.. (faux-gallic shrug) c'est la vie du procastinateur... (rolling the rrrrr's)

to get back... I learned I can move all this crap to WP from Blogger. Would that be worth it?

Someone said that I should put in more of my own thoughts here, instead of copy-pasting news articles. Now, if I am so reticent in real life, why the hell would i suddenly develop logorrhea ?? But again, maybe this is my medium.

I've been through a lot of geeky blogs today and I hope not to resemble any of them, in content and in design. There was once a time I thought it was funny to have this URL.. http://www.anuj.is-a-geek.com. Not anymore!!!

Rotary gifts green space
OUR CORRESPONDENT

Kalimpong, Feb. 23: To the town, with love from Rotary Club of Kalimpong.

Residents today rejoiced as Rotary Club of Kalimpong, as part of its celebrations to commemorate the centenary year of Rotary International, dedicated a "new-look" Triangular Park to them, after spending Rs 80,000 on its renovation.

"We decided upon renovating the park because it is one of the most visible landmarks in the town," M. Foning, the president of the Rotary Club of Kalimpong, said at a news conference.

"People here did not have a place to relax in the evenings. Despite having a park in the middle of the town, they could not frequent it because it was in a shambles," he added.

The municipality, to which the park belongs, has given the club permission to maintain the swathe of green, Foning said.

A guide map has also been set up at the park gates to help tourists find their way around it.

Club members said they also have plans to construct a building to call their own, in which would be housed centres for counselling and vocational training.

One of the members, Bharat Mani Pradhan, said: "We have plans to have a club building at Upper Cart Road. The building will also house a counselling centre for the youth and students along with a vocational training centre."

"It is very important to have these centres here. The counselling unit will cater to the needs of the youths and students by offering guidance on career prospects and vocational courses. We will also be able to generate awareness on the evils of drug abuse and AIDS," he added.

The vocational training centre, Pradhan said, would provide the economically and physically-challenged people of the community with job training.

A member has donated the land for the building and the club is now looking for funds to start the construction of the building.

"Some funds will be raised by members themselves and we have also approached the DGHC for funds to construct the building," Foning said.

High Fidelity

This has been asked before, but i pose the question again - Is literature and art (read - movies) only an interpretation of the masses/viewers??

ok ok .. i know u guys arent used to deep and profound ruminations from me so i stop here.. the only reason i asked that was coz i watched "High Fidelity" again tonight, and that movie gave me a totally different angle !! The first time I watched it, it was totally different. (Like my experiences with The Fountainhead, for those who actually know me). I know you'll say that it depends on your state of mind and all that.. but this movie in particular... DAMN.. totally different this time.. oh well.. the music rocks though! ;)

Love it when he says -"I've read books like ...Love in the Time of Cholera, and understood them, I think... they're about girls, right? " ;)
