vista blahs

I've been looking at Windows laptops recently.. No, not for myself!! But just my luck that I started my search after the release of Vista, and now that means that it's damn near impossible to find a machine with normal good ole XP.

I haven't understood this Vista thing yet.. Maybe I'll install it with Parallels and try it out for myself. I did play with it a bit in Best Buy but I guess the laptop it was installed on wasn't all that up to speed, coz I found it pretty clunky.

Anyway.. It is true that they have about 4 dozen different versions of Vista.. and just knowing which one to opt for will require a Dummies Book.
