"lord of the flies in NOLA"
New Orleans is in such a mess right now... Katrina came and went, and now there are other woes... the poor city.. what's with this place?? One city in the whole country that I like for its originality, freshness, 'differentness'.. and damn if the wrath of God isn't on this place!!!
Anyway, there's some guy who's stuck on the 10th floor of some building with very very frequent about New Orleans.. with Webcam feeds and all.. check it out.

The situation seems really bad there... with the looting and all... Poor NOLA.. get back on your feet plz.. am glad it wasn't like this when I was there a year ago, almost to the day! --shudder--
-- I came across a picture that I'd taken last year in a gas station (don't ask me why), about this time of the year, and the price of gas was $2.01. Today, I filled upgas at $3.12!!!! that hurt!! it hurt bad!! I gotta drive about 800 miles over the weekend, all the way to Virginia and back... Impossible prices. oh man, this is gonna hurt!!!!
-- Speed. Processor speed. Important. Very very important. :) I guess I kinda hung in there for quite a bit with an 800MHz Duron.. running at 100MHZ FSB Freq.. But that was gettin' to me.. I mean, I'd like to listen to music and work at the same time wouldn't I? :)... So sweet sweet new processor came in today.. spent the evening backing up my huge HDD.. being paranoic.. and then pluggin the new processor in. Sweet Jesus.. speed is good.
-- By the way I have converted. I am a Pastafarian now. Find out what it is. .... Of course I haven't converted. I would've but this thing has become such a fad that it almost sux.. altho its still hilarious! :). -- i was really in a mood to rave and rant today.. the day's just been crappy.. started with a totally unfair email.. and went downhill.. until i decided to just stay put at home and do nothing!! no contact with the outside world!!!
oh well... i'll spare the rants.. am suddenly bored of typing.. It is 4am and i've written a lot.
